Map of France, Loire Valley, Maine & Loire Domaine de Montfort is a family domain of 15 hectares of vines. We are situated in the beautiful small village of Montfort. We produce wines of Saumur, the town of Cadre Noir in the Loire Valley.

The majority of the vineyard is on flints and not limestone like the rest of the Saumur appellation. Flints give a different taste and smell to our wines, they are fresher. We principally work two typical grape varieties of the Loire Valley: Chenin for white and Cabernet Franc for rosé and red wines. We are happy to show that it's possible to do a lot of things with only two grape varieties.

There are four people of us working in the Domain. Gérard HUET, fourth generation of winegrowers, with his wife Madeleine, has specialized in viticulture and has developed wines of Saumur and Anjou. We are in an area of mixed farming where farmers used to grow cereals and breed livestock in addition to winegrowing. In 2011, Anthony HUET, an oenologist and fifth generation, joined the family estate with his wife Stéphanie, an agricultural engineer. Today, we work together and we produce different selections. We intend to keep the typicity of the Tradition wines and we propose new cuvees (Passion and Exception) with a selection of plots reflecting the alliance of two generations. In a few words :
